Smart Media is one of the International Integrated Reporting Council’s Training Partners. Through the Smart Academy, the Company builds the capacity and competency of individuals and corporates in the preparation of integrated reports. To do so the Company uses a combination of workshops and on-the-job training. In addition, to effectively meet the diverse requirements of different stakeholder groups Smart Media encourages clients to produce their integrated reports in a choice of formats such as print and online HTML, as well as executive summaries in video or other digital formats.
We are expanding our international team of writers!
We are looking for writers at all levels of experience who want to work at the forefront of corporate and sustainability reporting – from driven, established industry veterans with strong track records to emerging writers with potential, curiosity, and verve.
At a minimum, you will need:
Above all: excellent English writing and editing skills (the writer will be assigned writing tasks in multiple genres, but experience with long-form copy is particularly helpful).
An aptitude for research and analysis and for working on projects involving a large volume of source material.
An ability to meet tight deadlines, take constructive criticism well, and be eager to learn.
Attention to detail in writing, including making sure a text conforms to a style guide.
A willingness to work with a team of designers and web developers to combine written text elements with visual storytelling.
Ideally, the candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience in a professional writing field, and/or have a strong portfolio of writing projects. Experience with guiding and editing the work of other writers is a plus.
Experience with annual report writing, sustainability report writing, or other forms of business writing and corporate communications is very useful but not compulsory – but the candidate should be open to and interested in learning new writing genres and researching new fields.
